Chamomile is an herb that refers to a range of different daisy like plants, which are a member ofAsteraceaefamily. Chamomile has been used in traditional medicine for many centuries by healers of different cultures including the Egyptians and the Greeks.

They have been used since Ancient times for their calming, anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties in treatment of various medical conditions such as cold, sore throat, gingivitis, insomnia, anxiety, colic, irritable bowel syndrome, psoriasis, eczema and acne. Chamomile is available as dried flower heads, an infusion (tea), liquid extract, essential oil, tinctures (concentrated in alcohol) and in creams and ointments. Tea bags are the most common form found in grocery stores and pharmacies.

Acne Treatment :-

Chamomile tea can fight against acne scars and eliminate through its anxiolytic and antioxidant properties. There are two ways to use chamomile tea for acne treatment. It can be taken orally or used topically. In both cases, the tea has to be brewed to allow the active ingredients to get extracted into tea solution. And in some cases, acne can be treated both by drinking and rubbing the same herbal teas leaves on the skin which is found to be very effective.

Skin Bleach :-

The herbal tea act as excellent natural skin bleach. It lightens your complexion and gives a healthy glow naturally. Chamomile tea has been used for centuries as a skin lightener. It tightens your pores, soften your skin and when used consistently over two to three week period, will fade spots and acne scars. Boil three tablespoons of dried camomile flowers with 1 cup of water for about 8-10 minutes. After straining the mixture, add one tablespoon of honey and rose water to the mixture.

Act as good facial scrub :-

When mixed and blended with milk, chamomile tea provides a very good body and facial scrub. In another method, the contents of tea bag can be mixed with sugar and olive oil to make good scrub. Apply this scrub gently on face and massage it. Rinse your skin with cold water and pat dry.  It helps to remove the entire dead and dry skin cell giving a beautiful glow on the skin. And as once applied on skin it leaves skin with soothing feeling.

Soothing Effect :-

Chamomile tea is found to be very effective in soothing skin irritation and sunburns when applied topically on skin surface. Tea bags also provides soothing effect for tired eyes after working on computer for long hours or after watching TV continuously. Chamomile tea also act as wonderful, soothing healer when used in your bath and is expensive and natural way to give yourself a spa-like, bath –time treat. A chamomile bath can also be used for babies where they ease from diaper rash and other skin irritation, preserving the softness of baby’s skin and promoting good sleep.

Reduce Dark circles under Eyes :-

Another very important advantage of chamomile tea is that its tea bags can be used to treat dark circles under eyes.  For this home remedy, dip chamomile tea bag for 5 minutes and then cool it for some time before keeping under eyes so that it can be tolerable by your eyes. Keep for 5 minutes and then wash eyes thoroughly with fresh water.

Act as Moisturizer :-

Chamomile tea proves to be a very good moisturizer and cleaner for skin. The components present in chamomile tea works to be very good mask for acne and a serves as a very good toner and cleaner for skin. Chamomile can also have positive benefits on skin when consumed along with food as it nourishes and moisturises skin from inside. You can also take hot steam of chamomile tea which also provides overall beneficial effect for skin.

Healing Properties :-

Chamomile poses strong healing properties because of its anti-oxidant and anti-microbial properties. It also acts as a good disinfectant and can be used in cleaning of wounds and minors cuts on skin surfaces.

Anti-oxidant properties :-

Chamomile tea is an abundant source of anti-oxidants. Antioxidant helps to fight against the free radicals present in the body which damages skin cells. Thus it provides excellent protection against these free radicals and prevents any skin damage. A study proved that chamomile tea is very effective in fighting against bacteria and hence used as a powerful home remedy in preventing acne and scars on face.

Chamomile tea poses overall powerful healing, anti-oxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. It also proves to be very effective in treatment of acne, wounds and scars on skin surface. The herbal tea also possesses amazing healing, moisturizing, cleansing and soothing effect. It can be effectively used as a scrub for full body or as a face mask and provides soothing and relaxing effect for your eyes too. It can be used topically on your skin and as well as on your scalp while taking bath to prevent itchiness and any skin irritation.In addition, it is also found to be highly effectual in preventing and eliminating dandruff. Chamomile can soothe insect bites, chicken pox, wounds, burns bruises, sunburns, rashes and inflamed skin. The herb is also well known for easing discomfort caused by diseases such as eczema, psoriasis, diaper rash and other skin irritation. It is also found to be popular remedy for stopping the growth of ulcers.

Lavender :-

Lavender, like chamomile, is one of nature’s essential herbs for skin nourishment and healing. There are over 20 species and many subspecies in the Lavendula genus. Acne, eczema, dermatitis, insect bites, burns… you name it, lavender can help. Lavender essential oil not only smells divine, it is an antiseptic, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory, helping skin to heal and renew itself. The scent of pure lavender essential oil can be very calming, and a couple of drops massaged into the temples can help relieve a headache.
